What HYLC Has in Store for 2019!
October 13, 2019
HYLC stands for Hispanic Youth Leadership Council and is one of many clubs at Turlock High School. The club has been around for more than twenty years, having roughly around forty members this school year. Being a member of the club, we are very excited to continue our traditions and attend all the events we have planned. As of right now, Mr. Lopez, advisor of HYLC has plans for the club to participate in a huge event on October 26th, in Modesto, to celebrate the “Day of the Dead.” All club members from different schools come together to help decorate and bring positive spirits to take part in the celebration of life.
After recently interviewing members of HYLC on what they love most about the club, Julie Perez said, “I love how members of this club come together and have so many things in common especially the fact that we connect over our heritage.” Members of the club opened up about what HYLC means to them stating, “We believe HYLC stands for expression of culture, persistence, leadership and community involvement.” If you would like to join and be apart of this amazing family please talk to Mr. Lopez in room E6!
