THS Water Polo Goes Pink

October 18, 2022

The sound of water crashing everywhere; the ball being passed around the pool; people tackling underwater. This year both water polo teams of boys and girls have turned their game on to try to go undefeated this season. On October 3rd, JV and varsity had a great game competing against Pitman which ended with a score of twenty-two to four. Many people watching the game, as well as coaches and players, wore their Bee Positive Pink at the game. Wearing the Bee Positive Pink is to honor Kayla Bernardi, who sadly passed so they do this to keep her memory alive. Kayla’s parents started the Bee Positive movement to help fund organizations making a positive impact in local communities.

Turlock has a long history of successful water polo teams and championships. This year bulldogs hope to continue to have successful games this year.

The Turlock High School Water polo players don’t just compete, but they also build friendships with the other athletes on their team. Water Polo is a Fall sport, which usually starts at the beginning of the school year and is expected to end in late October. Water polo is a very difficult sport and to play well you need strong swimming skills, lots of conditioning, and you need to be floating. This year, they are going to have an all star game for the seniors all over the county to showcase the best players. Some of the best players even have the opportunity to earn a scholarship. Water polo is a fun sport that allows creativity and structure.
